A little write up about me and me music…
MENJENGAN ISLAND AND HARRY’S LAW
01/21/11
I must have been the last to find out about this cool way of coming up with a band name, album art and title. here’s mine:
And just like that I have a name, title and art for a future side project.
If you wanna join in on the fun, here’s how it works:
1 – Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 – Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. 3 – Go t…o flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”. Third picture no matter what it is, will be your album cover. 4 – Use photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together. 5 – Post it with this text in the “caption” and TAG the friends you want to join in.
On another note, I wrote a tune for an upcoming episode of Harry’s Law, the new David E. Kelley series starring Kathy Bates. The song is called “You’re The Light” and it plays near the end of episode 4. Pretty sure it airs in mid Feb. I’ll keep you posted on exacts.

I’m excited to share a song with you that i produced for singer/songwriter Chris Mathieu. Special thx to Brian Young, Helen Belangie, Dan Wistrom, Kyle Mullarky & Hans DeKline for helping to make it come to life! If you dig 70′s stuff like Cat Stevens or newer artists like Damien Rice, you’ll dig Chris. Have a listen and download for free via the below link.

END OF THE AUGHTS
Just got back to LA from visiting the folks in St. Louis and Monique’s parents in Charlotte, NC. Had a great time catching up, but would love to have done without the whole traveling across country deal. Note to US Airways: Please stop overselling your flights! We arrived at the airport to find the airline had no seats for us. Thankfully some willing passengers took the airline up on a free voucher to stay behind for another six hours.
I’ve had a great decade. Moved to LA in 2000, formed a band called Signal Hill Transmission, wrote many a song, put out several records, made some lifelong friends, found love, lost it and found it again and capped it off with “Quick Fix Bandage,” my first Fisher Price solo record. What more could a guy ask for? I’m looking forward to saying twenty ten and have several projects in the works that I’ll fill you in on after the first of the year. I hope y’all have a great NYE. Be sure to cab it!
Check out the view from our friends house in the Hollywood Hills. On a clear day you can see the whole city.

DECEMBER UPDATE
Hey Y’all,
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I certainly did. Hung out with some good friends down here in Venice. Oh, did I tell you I moved? After years on the Eastside, Monique and I moved to the beach (Marina del Rey). It’s been really great. I miss my old digs, but being able to walk to just about everything is great. I also went in on a little studio with my buddy Kevin Houlihan. It’s a back house that was allegedly built and used by Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys. While I have no proof, I’ll take the butcher’s word for it. Hopefully some of that Beach Boys mojo will find it’s way into my new recordings.
Speaking of records, I’m really happy with how everything turned out with “Quick Fix Bandage.” I hope you had a chance to check it out. If not, I’d love for you to have a listen. If you head over to http://scott-warren.com/music you can download the record in it’s entirety for 99 cents. I will in turn donate your 99 CENTS (or more if you choose) to Sweet Relief, “a musician’s fund that provides financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems.” I’ll have it setup this way for a week (through next Friday, Dec 11th) and let you know how much I send to “Sweet Relief” on my next update in January.
That’s about it. Oh, had a nice song placement in the new FX series called “The League.” It’s a Signal Hill Transmission tune called “Ordinary.” If you haven’t had a chance to check out the show, it’s really good. All the episodes are “On Demand.” The song appears in episode 2 & 4.
Hope you have a great holiday season. Talk to ya next year!
Cheers, Scott

OHOUSE GIG!
The world famous (in some circles) Oyster House served as our national headquarters during the recording of “Quick Fix Bandage.” We would follow up a long day in the studio with a nightcap at this historic Studio City bar/restaurant. We met a lot of musicians and good folk here (some that eventually lent their talents to the record). We (myself and Kevin Houlihan) have threatened to play this joint for over a year now. This Saturday night it’s all going down. I’m playing a stripped down set around 10PM w/ Kevin on Bass and Brian Young on drums. The Meadows (Kevin Houlihan & Todd Herfindal) will follow. Come early for dinner and be sure to ask Christopher for a round of his special Margaritas!

57 DAYS LATER
57 Days Later…
So, yeah, 57 days since my last blog. Figured an update was in order. The shows at Hotel Cafe, O’Brien’s and The Echo were a blast. Looking forward to the Pete’s Candy Store gig on OCT 27th in Brooklyn! Attached is a nice little write up about the record. Included is a questionnaire I filled out, divulging some extremely personal info.

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT
My solo gig at Cinema Bar last Saturday was a blast. It was, however, a little bright in there so I decided to play the whole show with my eyes closed. No one seemed to mind as they were equally blinded by my orange duvetyne suit. Thanks to all that came out to support, especially my sis and bro in law that drove up from San Diego.

OYSTER NIGHTS
Kevin just got back into town from a six month stint in Fiji. What better way to celebrate than to visit our home away from home, “The Oyster House.” The O-house became a very important part of our recording sessions b/c of it’s close proximity to the house on Sarah St. aka Studio City Studios. We’d put in a 10 hour day and walk up to the joint for a night cap. We actually dubbed the last take of each session “The Oyster Take.”
Something was in the air last night b/c things got downright giddy after awhile. At one point, I joined Christopher behind the bar to make some Margarita’s. Here’s a pic. I know it’s a little blurry, but that’s how we were feeling…

BACKSTORY
I got together with my buddy Kevin Houlihan in late 2008 to record the songs now collectively known as “Quick Fix Bandage.” We recorded most of the record in an empty house in Studio City, CA. A bunch of friends stopped by to play. Here are a few pics from the sessions. If you’ve never tried playing w/ “Fly Eyes” on, you don’t know what you’re missing.
